You Mean Suing People Isn't a Job?

Life must be hard when you don’t have an actual job and/or classes to report to on a daily basis. I mean, really, there actually is somewhat of a limit on the amount of time any given person can spend: shopping, tanning, talking shit on people, getting hair extensions, eating, drinking, doing drugs, laying out by the pool, adopting animals, going on vacation, taking pictures, dancing and having sex. What else is left to do on the rest of your free time? According to Paris Hilton, sue people. When one lawsuit finishes she starts up another. Now that she has to pay Zeta Graff a reported $2 million in a defamation case, she’s decided to sue Hallmark to recoup some cash. You didn’t think she’d actually use her own stinky perfume money to pay Zeta, did you? I man Paris DID just buy a new $6 million mansion…give her a little break.

Paris Hilton has filed a federal lawsuit over a $2.49 Hallmark greeting card that uses a photo of the heiress and her trademarked phrase "That's Hot." In a complaint filed yesterday in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, Hilton alleges that Hallmark has, among other transgressions, misappropriated her image and invaded her privacy with the card. According to the lawsuit, the greeting card, which purports to show Hilton's "first day as a waitress," was first distributed earlier this year and remains on sale. Hilton is seeking at least $500,000 in actual damages and a permanent injunction barring Hallmark from further exploitation of her name and likeness. The "waitress" card is one of three recent Hallmark offerings that have featured Hilton. [source]

I still think it's hilarious that she trademarked "that's hot" - like it's some brilliant linguistic algorithm that nobody in the whole world has ever thought of before.

YOUR 15 MINUTES: Another Stupid Lawsuit

A&P Grocery store chain is suing two brothers for over $1 million. The boys, who are in college, made a parody rap video for school set in the store's produce department. The video, which was made when customers were not in the store and does not include harming actual store veggies, was posted on YouTube where it set off a series of customer complaints leading to the lawsuit. The boys have already been fired from the produce department. They're currently looking for a lawyer.

Here is my favorite controversial produce video:

Lindsay Got Off

The Los Angeles County District Attorney will not charge Lindsay Lohan with a DUI today after her accident at 5:30am on May 27th, when she lost control of her Mercedes SL-65 and crashed into a curb in Beverly Hills. Lindsay, then 20 years old, was speeding and had nearly twice the legal amount of alcohol in her system. Tests later revealed that Lohan had used cocaine that night, according to Us Weekly. A police spokesman said a "usable amount" of cocaine was found at the scene, but not specifically on Lohan. She fled the scene of the accident and was tracked down at a local hospital receiving treatment for very minor injuries. Lindsay turned herself in yesterday afternoon around 3:00pm and was released in about one hour. She has yet to be charged with a crime, but TMZ says:

In an email to TMZ, the spokesperson for the DA told us to "Check back on Monday."

She went back yesterday and turned herself into police. She was fingerprinted and released on her own recognisance. Honest to God, what the fuck does that mean? No, Lindsay, it's coo! Just go ahead and nearly kill someone. Play it off by going to "rehab" for a few days. Come back and then head to court... where they'll tell you, "Hey, Lindsay. Listen girl, we know you're famous and your life is like REALLY hard. So, I'll tell you what. Enjoy your weekend, and come back on Monday! BTW, can I get your autograph for my little girl? She LOVED you in Parent Trap!"

It's cool. [source]

YOUR 15 MINUTES: Toka-Cola

Kenneth Affolter just can’t catch a break. First he was sentenced to more than five years in prison for making pot-laced treats and soft drinks with names such as Stoney Rancher, Rasta Reese's and Keef Kat. Now he’s being sued by Hershey because the names, while witty, can also be categorized under trademark infringement, trademark dilution and unfair competition. According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, each came in packaging similar to Hershey's Jolly Rancher, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups and Kit Kat candies. The company is seeking $100,000 in damages. Papers were served on Affolter on Tuesday while he was in a county jail awaiting transfer to state prison. Affolter's lawyer, David M. Michael, said he was negotiating with Hershey. [source]

Celebrity Clone: Giant Lawsuit Edition

Anne Hathaway's boyfriend, Italian real estate developer Raffaelo Follieri, looks stringingly similar to Zach Braff. Zach should be glad he's not Raffaelo who is currently facing a $55 million lawsuit. Ron Burkle is suing Follieri for allegedly taking $55 million of Burkle's company's money and lavishing it on, as court papers put it, "an unnamed actress girlfriend." According to the lawsuit,Follieri spent at least some of the gigantic money pile on private jet travel for himself and Hathaway, dog care for their Labrador Esmerelda, monster shopping at Prada and Fendi, and an executive chef, among other extravagances. The money was supposed to be poured into development of land purchased from the Catholic Church, which is Follieri's business specialty. Yup, I'd rather be dating Zach Braff.

YOUR 15 MINUTES: Taken to The Cleaners

My colleague randomly bought me this gorgeous shirt she thought looked like something I would love. I did and I wore it once then sent it off to the cleaners. It was silk jersey and absolutely needed to be dry cleaned. Let me preface the rest of this story with the fact that I have serious trust issues when it comes to clothing. I love my clothes and I put a lot of time and effort into my wardrobe, therefore, the anonymity and uncertainty of a dry cleaner drives me semi-insane. The other day I picked up a bunch of items and transported them to my closet. I decided to change into the shirt my colleague randomly bought me and it happened… The dry cleaner ruined the shirt. It had about 5 different holes and 4-5 weird pulls in the fabric. They’re currently trying to fix the shirt but I’m pretty sure it’s going to the rags. I’m slowly coming to terms with this idea and I think I’ll make it through this. One of my fellow DC’ers had a different idea about how this situation should be handled:

The Chungs, immigrants from South Korea, realized their American dream when they opened their dry-cleaning business seven years ago in the nation's capital. For the past two years, however, they've been dealing with the nightmare of litigation: a $65 million lawsuit over a pair of missing pants. Jin Nam Chung, Ki Chung and their son, Soo Chung, are so disheartened that they're considering moving back to Seoul, said their attorney, Chris Manning, who spoke on their behalf. "They're out a lot of money, but more importantly, incredibly disenchanted with the system," Manning said. "This has destroyed their lives." The lawsuit was filed by a District of Columbia administrative hearings judge, Roy Pearson, who has been representing himself in the case.

The problem began in May 2005 when he brought one pair in for alterations and they went missing -- gray trousers with what Pearson described in court papers as blue and red stripes on them. First, Pearson demanded $1,150 for a new suit. Lawyers were hired, legal wrangling ensued and eventually the Chungs offered Pearson $3,000 in compensation. No dice. Then they offered him $4,600. No dice. Finally, they offered $12,000 for the missing gray trousers with the red and blue stripes. Pearson said no. With neither satisfaction nor his prized gray pants, Pearson upped the ante considerably. The judge went to the lawbooks. Citing the District of Columbia's consumer protection laws, he claims he is entitled to $1,500 per violation. Per day. What follows is the beginning of thousands of pages of legal documents and correspondence that, two years later, have led to a massive civil lawsuit in the amount of $67 million. According to court papers, here's how Pearson calculates the damages and legal fees: He believes he is entitled to $1,500 for each violation, each day during which the "Satisfaction Guaranteed" sign and another sign promising "Same Day Service" was up in the store -- more than 1,200 days. And he's multiplying each violation by three because he's suing Jin and Soo Chung and their son. He also wants $500,000 in emotional damages and $542, 500 in legal fees, even though he is representing himself in court. He wants $15,000 for 10 years' worth of weekend car rentals as well. "He's somehow purporting that he has a constitutional right to a dry cleaner within four blocks of his apartment," Manning said. Much of Pearson's case rests on two signs that Custom Cleaners once had on its walls: "Satisfaction Guaranteed" and "Same Day Service. Based on Pearson's dissatisfaction and the delay in getting back the pants, he claims the signs amount to fraud. He sought to expand the case into a class action suit, but was denied, angrily, by District of Columbia Civil Judge Neal Kravitz. "The Court has significant concerns that the plaintiff is acting in bad faith and with an intent to delay the proceedings," the judge wrote in court papers. "Indeed, it is difficult to draw any other conclusion, given the plaintiff's lengthy delay in seeking to expand the scope of the case, the breathtaking magnitude of the expansion he seeks, his failure to present any evidence in support of the thousands of claims he says he wishes to add, and his misrepresentation concerning the scope of his first amended complaint." The case will now be heard by another judge in June.

Sherman Joyce, president of the American Tort Association, has written a letter to the group of men who will decide this week whether to renew Pearson's 10-year appointment. Joyce is asking them to reconsider. Chief Administrative Judge Tyrone Butler had no comment regarding Pearson's reappointment. The association, which tries to police the kind of abusive lawsuits that hurt small businesses, also has offered to buy Pearson the suit of his choice. And former National Labors Relations Board chief administrative law judge Melvin Welles wrote to The Washington Post to urge "any bar to which Mr. Pearson belongs to immediately disbar him and the District to remove him from his position as an administrative law judge." "There has been a significant groundswell of support for the Chungs," said Manning, adding that plans for a defense fund Web site are in the works.

To the Chungs and their attorney, one of the most frustrating aspects of the case is their claim that Pearson's gray pants were found a week after Pearson dropped them off in 2005. They've been hanging in Manning's office for more than a year. Pearson claims in court documents that his pants had blue and red pinstripes. "They match his inseam measurements. The ticket on the pants match his receipt," Manning said. Manning is angry with Pearson, saying the judge has terrorized the Chungs for spite. "They came to the United States hoping for the American dream," Manning said, "and Roy Pearson has made it a nightmare."

The ABC News Law & Justice Unit has calculated that for $67 million Pearson could buy 84,115 new pairs of pants at the $800 value he placed on the missing trousers in court documents. If you stacked those pants up, they would be taller than eight Mount Everests. If you laid them side by side, they would stretch for 48 miles. [source]

I've written about how I absolutely despise frivolous lawsuits. They are incredibly detrimental to our society. "People in America are now scared of each other," legal expert Philip Howard told ABC News' Law & Justice Unit. "That's why teachers won't put an arm around a crying child, and doctors order unnecessary tests, and ministers won't meet with parishioners. It's a distrust of justice and it's changing our culture."

Baby Daddy Drama

In the longest paternity episode in history, two out of seven potential fathers will learn if they 'ARE the father' of Anna Nicole Smith's baby. The results will be released at 2:30 ET. I'm not sure if they are going to be released publicly but I am sure someone will leak them if they're not. Personally, I've lost interest in this story and forgot about it until Anna's trashbag sister was on TV this morning promoting her new book "Train Wreck." She's not as bad-looking as I expected but she definitely lived up to my expectations in the intellectual capacity department. I want the baby to be father's by the old guy's frozen sperm!

YOUR YouTube FIX: Bitch, You Got Sued!

Media conglomerate Viacom Inc. sued Google Inc. and its Internet video-sharing site YouTube for more than $1 billion today in the biggest challenge yet to the Web search leader's strategy to dominate the online video market.

The lawsuit accuses Google and its popular online video unit of "massive intentional copyright infringement," threatening its ambitions to turn YouTube into a major distributor of entertainment and outlet for advertising.

Viacom, home to the MTV and Comedy Central channels, contends that almost 160,000 unauthorized clips of its programming have been uploaded onto YouTube's site and viewed more than 1.5 billion times.

Could this mean the end of Laguna Beach YouTube clips?

The Circle of Star's Life

Star Jones Reynolds began her television career at Court TV in 1991 as a legal commentator then legal correspondent for NBC's The Today Show and NBC Nightly News then left NBC for her own show Jones & Jury which was cancelled so she moved to chief legal analyst on Inside Edition. Then the legal eagle took flight into the more superficial side of entertainment where she was as a red-carpet host for the E! network, wrote a book, represented big, black women as co-host on The View, was sued by a landscaping company, tried to make people like Payless shoes, used The Viewto get her lavish wedding for free and lost 3,085 pounds via a certain procedure that she doesn’t want to talk about. She then married a gay man, left the show via catfight (tre apropos) while simultaneously making Barbara Walters lose her shit on air, wrote another book at some point in time, was parodied by a tranny for a PETA ad, temporarily hosted House Hunters on HGTV. She's now landed back at CourtTV as host of a new daytime talk show all chewed up and spit out by various surgeries and photoshop. Life: fulfilled. Photoshop Project: A+

From Golddiggin' to Gravediggin': The Story of Anna Nicole Smith

I promise this is my last Anna Nicole post...

Superthanks to Dino for keeping my Anna Nicole Smith postmortem obsession alive on Friday. They've been trying to throw her into the ground for a almost a month now and the day it happens, my laptop decides to hate all wireless networks and then refused to even acknowledge their existence. It started connecting to them again late last night so if Anna decides to resurrect on the third day, I'll be able to blog about it.Before work this morning, I watched Part 1 of the Anna Nicole Smith Funeral mini-series orchestrated by Entertainment Tonight (TiVoed). Media outlets shelled out big bucks for coverage rights. Speaking of the words 'big' and 'bucks'…Vergie the money hungry gravedigging Hutt woke up at the butt crack o' dawn on Friday to file a petition with the Bahamian Supreme Court in a reeeeeaaaaaly last ditch effort to block the funeral. Like so last minute that the hearse was already outside the church with the body in the trunk just waiting to hear if they could finally start start the services or if they had to follow Vergie's orders to morph into a Duck Tour amphibious vehicles and head off into the Atlantic Ocean quacking. When the petition was denied, Vergie and her quadruple chin then had the nerve to show up to the services in her best funeral muumu...late and in tears. Of course the sole reason for her tears was the realization that Anna’s grave would not be writing out paychecks to supplement her pension. Her tears were just conveniently appropriate since she went straight from the court to a funeral.

For some reason, Vergie, Larry Birkhead, Howard K. Stern all gave eulogies. Call me crazy but the last people I would want giving my eulogy is an estranged white trash family member and one of my ex-boyfriends. I mean seriously…how can that happen? I’m not a huge fan of anyone named Howard Stern but he managed to say some really nice things about Anna during his eulogy and still gave Vergie a verbal middle finger in the midst of it all. I think Anna would’ve been proud. Here are some excerpts via ET:

The truth, there's only one truth, and it's not what people say in court, even if those people are your blood relatives. It's not what people who claim to be your friends say to the media. ... The truth is what your life ... what you touch, what you feel, what you see with your own eyes, what you observe for yourself. I know the truth about Anna. ...

No one could give Anna the credit she deserved. It doesn't matter what anyone says. We know
the truth. ... People questioned whether she was bright, she didn't graduate from high school... I could guarantee you, Anna was smarter than I am. She became a household name. [She was one] of the most famous people in the world. It didn't happen by accident, it wasn't managers, lawyers, agents, it wasn't me, it was all her. ... Anna was an entertainer, a true entertainer. It didn't matter if she was acting just with her friends, she knew what people wanted and she gave people what they want. ... It didn't matter where we were or who was there -- actors, musicians, politicians -- everybody's focus was on Anna. She was the center of attention, it wasn't even close. ... Marilyn Monroe was her idol, [and] I'll bet you if they lived at the same time, and they met, Marilyn would be flocking to Anna. It's not disrespect to Marilyn ... it's just that Anna was that special.

When Anna was alive it was one thing, but it was wrong for people to portray Anna the way they did when she passed away in the courtroom, in the media...so-called family members, people who claim to be friends, lawyers and even the judge ... if these people have decency, or dignity, or any concern for Anna or Dannielynn, they wouldn't have done it ... it was disrespectful, but not the truth that I know, not the truth that I know. ... She controlled her life. Her opinions were her opinions, and her judgment wasn't clouded by anything, she was wonderful and she was kind. To me she was perfect. ... She lived her life in a fishbowl and fought with one of the richest men in the world, all the way to the Supreme Court, and she was publicly ridiculed every day. ... The only thing she couldn't overcome was the death of her son, Daniel, who was the world to her. And I quote [from Anna's eulogy for Daniel], 'You were my rock, the only one that kept me solid. ... You were always afraid of dying, and I never believed you, and now you're gone. It's so hard to think of you ... my heart is empty, I w
ill come home to you.'

From the day that Daniel passed, she had nightmares that Daniel was lost and he didn't know what to do. ... Well, Anna, today you are going home to Daniel to the Bahamas and in heaven. I understand how you felt when Daniel died because you were my rock, and now my heart is empty. I wish God took me instead. ... When we were together, it didn't matter what people said, nothing mattered because we knew the truth. ... Sometimes it felt like it was us against the world. I can't believe that you're gone and you're not here to protect anyone, and honestly, sometimes I don't know how I'm gonna go on, but I know that my work isn't done. I still have to protect you, I have to protect your wishes, I have to protect your name, and most of all I have to protect Dannielynn, and I promise you, as long as I'm still breathing, I will, no matter who comes at me. You and I, we know the truth. We lived it, and that's all that matters. When my work is done, I promise you, I will come home to you again, both you and Daniel. I love you."

Vergie managed to spew this :

"I was there when God gave you to me. You were a beautiful baby, you were so loved. We all loved you and have so many stories to tell about you. So many great times, so many fun times. We watched you grow into a beautiful woman and we watched you stumble a few times ... but you always got back up and carried on. So headstrong, you accomplished all of the wonderful dreams that you wanted. You have shown us that if you want something in life bad enough, walk tall and never quit. We've always been here for you. We love you and know that you loved us. Goodbye, my baby daughter."

Larry Birkhead gets his own post. Keep scrolling down for more eulogy-mania...

Decision 2007: The Bahama Burial

It's a sad day for estranged money-hungry white trash moms everywhere:

Justices Barry Stone, Mark Polen and George Shahood of the Fourth District Court of Appeals in Florida decided to uphold Judge Crazy McCrybaby's decision giving custody of the body of Anna Nicole Smith to baby Dannielynn's court-appointed advocate, Richard Milstein. Anna's body is taking one last trip to the Bahamas to be buried next to her son so they can enjoy the never-ending Spring Break in the sky. Hopefully Vergie the Hutt will refrain from actualizing her threat to take the case to the FL Supreme Court. Legally, I'm not sure if she's able. I'm seriously over this aspect of the story. Just bury her so she has a grave to roll over in while the legal drama continues. A funeral is planned for Friday at 10:30am.

Deja Vu: The Fight Over Anna Nicole's Body is Back On!

Seriously guys, I'm unhealthily obsessed with this saga.

Here's the quick update: Anna's estranged mom from Texas, Vergie the Hutt, decided to appeal Judge Crazy Man's decision to give Anna's remains to some lawyer who decided to bury her in the Bahamas. Of course this happened after Howard K. Stern, Larry Birkhead and everyone else in the history of the world fiiiiiiiiiiiinally agreed on something: that Anna Nicole should be buried next to Daniel in the Bahamas. Larry and Howard were even finishing each other's sentences in a press conference. I think there was world peace for a second. In the meantime, while her daughter's body is decomposing in a morgue, Vergie decided to give one last ditch effort to get that money tree she thinks will grow out of Anna's grave. The case is being heard as I type. Watch it live here.

SUCKS TO BE YOU: They Sued Her Again!

Because $50 million wasn't exorbitant enough, the parents of Awatef Aboudihaj (the person killed by Brandy's unfortunate rear-ending) have filed an additional lawsuit on behalf of her two sons. The suits says her two sons, Mrwan Mohamed, 14, and Kareem Mohamed, 10, will be forever harmed by the loss of their mother. Damages will be determined at trial. Awatef Aboudihaj's parents, Aboudihaj Ahmed and Labridi Zohra, who reside in Morocco, are also asking for $50 million claiming Brandy was driving recklessly. These people must think their daughter was hit by the US Lottery.

By now everyone knows how I feel about lawsuits like this. Brandy was driving about 65 mph on a highway and hit the back of the car. She was not under the influence of drugs, alcohol or a cell phone. I'm forever harmed by the loss of my mother but I'm not running around suing people. Let me remind you that $50 million is like ½ a Britney Spears. There’s no way Brandy has that money and there’s no way her insurance company is going to shell it out for her.

BREAKING NEWS: He Is The Decider...kind of

Judge ADHD Crazyman has ruled in favor of Dannielynn. He passed the buck to some court appointed attorney/guardian who MUST discuss how her remains are handled with Vergie, Howard and Larry. Then he cried. Then he said he wants her buried with her son in the Bahamas. The guardian, Richard Milstein, agreed and said the body should go to the Bahamas. Larry and Howard even appeared at a press conference singing sweet songs of "we love Anna and if this is what is best for her, we're ok with it." Of course it can't be that easy - shortly after the press conference Anna's psycho mom decided to appeal the decision. Classy.

It's Really SO Outrageous: Day 2

Brief update from Anna Nicole Body Trial Day 2 (Wednesday):

  • You can read the Day 1 update here.
  • The Judge decided he’s going to drag this shit on until Friday, a day before the Medical Examiner wants to kick Anna Nicole out of the morgue. He's never going to get his own TV show because there's no way he could fit a case into a 1/2 - 1 hour timeslot.
  • The Judge has to be the most verbose man I’ve ever heard in the history of wordy people.
  • When Texas (his name for the mom’s lawyer) said something about this case being a Circus. Seidlin said, "Don't use that term. It turns me off. There is no circus here, my friend. ... There's nothing circus. If you want to say circus, say circus equals attention." Ok…. I think he just needs some of Anna’s clown face paint to bring him out of denial.
  • This judge has the worst ADD I’ve ever seen. In the middle of one discussion he stopped everyone and began rambling about how everyone needs to love each other because some religious wars don’t let people love each other and everyone needs to hold hands an honestly it made less sense than I’m making now. Kumbaya.
  • Anna’s mom took the stand and was a horrific witness. She blatantly lied about receiving money from Splash News but then retracted her lie in the afternoon. She said called "a close friend" of the family, David Leigh, as a journalist with Splash News has been attending events with her including yesterday’s trial. Although, she could not identify precisely where Leigh lived in Florida and she said he did not know Daniel even though he was at a memorial service for him in the Bahamas. David paid for some of Vergie’s flights. Whenever she was caught in a lie or she didn’t want to answer a question, she would freak out and start crying like she was overcome with emotion. She repeatedly answered questions by screaming stuff about Howard.
  • They took a fieldtrip to the morgue during the lunch break to view Anna's body. Tasty.
  • I guess I should mention now that they suspect Anna's mom tipped off the media about the secret lunchtime viewing. Apparently the Splash News journalist was traveling with her. Leaking that information violated a confidentiality agreement.
  • Howard was a rather boring witness. He didn’t want to talk about Anna’s drug use. He admitted she took prescription medication including methadone. Anna paid for all of Howard’s expenses. He said he made approximately "$60,000 - $70,000" in 2002 and $12,500 from the E! reality series "The Anna Nicole Show." If Howard wins the inheritance case, he will get 6% or $6,000,000 in compensation as her lawyer on the 14+ year case. He’s now borrowing money from his parents. He plans to work when he’s done grieving.
  • Larry Birkead took the stand. I’m unsure what a potential baby daddy has to do with where the body goes but I guess it’s no more irrelevant than the rest of this crap. Honestly, I didn’t pay much attention to him. He went on and on about Anna, Howard and drug use. He said he makes money of archived photos of Anna. Blah blah blah the end.
  • Proceedings started today at 10:30 am ET. You can watch it here.
I want more clown faces! Everyone needs to show up tomorrow in clown face.

Celebrity Clone: Court Edition

Ok, this totally looked better inside my head buuuut.... couldn't Henry Winkler totally play the Anna Nicole Smith Body judge on a Lifetime Original Series (if he shaved off a lil hair off the top and visited a tanning bed)? Or what about Vincent Schiavelli if he was still alive and got rid of the mustache....

It's Really SO Outrageous

Here are some highlights from what turned into the Anna Nicole Smith Body Trial of the century yesterday (did anyone remember it was fat Tuesday?):

  • Judge Larry Seidlin started off the day by asking Howard K. Stern to write Dannielynn's name on an easel under the word "daughter” for unknown reasons.
  • After a short discussion with my father, who is a judge, I’ve confirmed my suspicions that the theatrics are in full effect - Judge Larry S. is using his 15 minutes for a TV deal. It’s a shame really because my father was going to come out as a potential baby daddy. Now I think his services would be best used in the courtroom. He’d really make a perfect TV judge. Much better than Larry S. and certainly better than Judge Judy.
  • Anyway...Stern's lawyer Krista Barth complained that Larry Birkhead’s lawyer, Debra Opri, said Howard killed Anna in the courtroom.
  • Howard K. Stern took the witness stand this afternoon and said some stuff like this:
    • He and Anna became intimate over the past few years and decided to keep the relationship a secret. Of Anna he said, "We became more than friends, she was my whole world, everything to me. She was my lover." Of Daniel, Anna's son: "Daniel Smith was "like a brother" to him. He also said that Anna had boyfriends throughout this period of time because he just wanted her to be happy. So basically, he was her fuck buddy. Oh, and J. Howard Marshall was truly the love of her life.
    • He said "She talked of death really from the time that I met her.” She though she would die young like Marilyn Monroe and wanted to be buried next to her but it was too expensive. Is there room next to Marilyn? I thought Paris Hilton buried her goat there.
    • After Daniel died, Howard suggested they bury him in LA but Anna insisted on the Bahamas. She made Howard check the plots because she and Daniel were afraid of bugs and she didn’t want any getting into the coffins.
    • She attempted to crawl into Daniel’s coffin at his funeral.
    • He said, "She died emotionally when Daniel died. It was the reason why she didn't want to bury him than earlier than ... she did. It was the most difficult thing that I've ever seen anyone go through.”
    • Howard didn’t want to be known as a “gold digger” which is why they never legally married. …buuuuuuuut they were going to get married at the end of the month.
  • Howard was supposed to be in court for one day but the Judge asked him to stay longer. They compromised when the judge pulled two private jets out of his ass and let Howard choose one to fly him back to the Bahamas for the night.
  • Her emballmed body is decaying at the morgue and the Medical Examiner wants her ass out of there by Saturday.
  • The drama begins again today at 9:30am ET. Watch it here.

Xine's Courtroom Commentary: Can someone please tell me what's so difficult about all of this: the will was so poorly written that Howard doesn't stand to gain much regardless of what happens in the courtroom. Also, let's remember that Anna's estate is basically broke UNLESS she gets the inheritance she was fighting over for 14+ years. Howard was listed as the executor, give him the body and let him bury it in the plot she bought next to her dead son. Take the goddamn DNA and send it to a lab. Put Vergie's fat ass back on a plane to Texas and stop wasting the taxpayers' money.

ParisExposed Lawuits, Statements and Maybe Some Backlash

Paris has been Exposed for about two or so weeks now on the latest for-profit scandal website featuring her night-vision worthy activities, drugs, a variety of slurs and some really horrible rich-white-girl dancing. In fact, the site was used, abused, passed around the internet and then shut down via temporary court injunction (her lawsuit = she wants the materials off the web but she also wants part of the profits). I just had deja vu. Funny thing is - only the Paris-loathing gossip blogs picked up the story. In a world where Mel Gibson's drunken Jew-rant to a police officer made headline news as quick as the officer could write it up in a police report, Michael Richards made his first widespread appearance since Seinfeld via cell phone video camera after using the N word about 2931 times too many and last but not least, Isaiah Washington was plastered across the news for weeks and ended up in rehab for calling his gay costar a homo the F word -- where the hell is the mainstream Paris backlash? Paris' videos featured her using anti-sematic language, the n word, the f word, making fun of poor people, making fun of people from the ghetto, making fun of people in public school (even though she dropped out of her private school) basically insulting everyone else in the entire world except herself and her sister.Well hopefully this is the beginning of the end of Paris. CNN featured their first video/commentary (#1 video download) on Paris and her slurs and now GLADD President Neil G. Giuliano has issued a statement: “These are not frivolous words, and to use them as if they are gives tacit sanction to the racism and homophobia they engender. Hilton has an obligation to go on the record, explain herself, and publicly apologise to the LGBT and African American communities and all those offended by these slurs.”

...and it wouldn't be a xine post about Paris Hilton without featuring my favorite character, her diaper changer and publicist, Elliot Mintz. For once, Elliot exits his constant state of denial and says: “I’m not going to make any attempt to spin this. It happened. I’m not going to deny it happened.." of course he couldn't stop there. That would just be too much for one day. He had to try to justify her actions by finishing his statement with: "Each of us has used words we have regretted later. This was six years ago. She was 20 at the time. It was New Year’s Eve. She had been obviously drinking. She sincerely regrets using those words. She is not a racist or an anti-Semite." So Elliot, you're basically telling me that she sounds like a racist anti-semite when she's drinking and she's sorry that people heard her? Here's an old adage that I believe came from a man on the side of the Pacific Coast Highway last one night: once a drunken anti-semite always a drunken anti-semite.

ParisOVERexposed.com Publicity Stunt O' The Day

Until the recent 20 minute video featuring things such as Paris Hilton in a bathtub and a man with a chest full of coke, I never really cared to form an opinion on Joe Francis. To me, he was just a guy who had too much money from pimping out the bare chests of young, drunk college girls across the nation. Truthfully, I was a little jealous I didn’t come up with the idea first. After wasting 20 minutes of my life watching Joe Francis treat Paris Hilton like the penis vessel she is, I decided to do a little bit of checking up on him. Not-so-surprisingly, he’s even creepier than his too-wide ultra-chicklet child molester smile. He’s been accused of things including but not limited to: supplying drugs and alcohol to minors and engaging them in sex acts, date rape – on several occasions including a young virgin, roughing up an LA Times reporter (read the story), harassing his apartment manager, threatening to kill a party coordinator (who had a miscarriage shortly thereafter) and many many lawsuits. He’s just a dream… that is if your dream is a severely couth-deficient, arrogant date rapist-with-a-release-form in his 30’s who thinks being mean to girls shows that you like them. I think he wants us to counterbalance that with his resort-like home, bank account in the multi-multi-multi millions and of course his private jet. Did I mention he’s rumored to currently be dating Lindsay Lohan? Don’t they sound like a golden couple? Mama Lohan is surely proud of this catch. I'm actually being serious. He's right up Lohan alley.

Moving on to other rumors – like Joe Francis is supposedly behind ParisExposed.com. He’s featured in a number of the videos and they are all rather Girls Gone Wild-esque. In fact, the whole thing seems like a marketing scheme cooked up by GGW. Joe decided to call into Howard Stern today for some publicity for ParisExposed.com to discuss his lawsuit against the website. Here’s a rundown of the call:

Joe Francis of “Girls Gone Wild” fame got on the line to talk about the recently revealed sex video of him and Paris Hilton, but after saying hello, he went completely silent. This led Howard to ask Joe if he was high, but he insisted he wasn’t, and was instead “just chillin’”...in bed. As Joe began talking again, Howard acknowledged he didn’t understand how Joe had enough money to afford private jets, and Robin figured it had to do with the fact that “Girls Gone Wild” was a subscription series. Joe claimed he wasn’t happy that the Paris tapes were released, but both Howard and Robin thought he was behind their release. However, Joe promised that wasn’t the case and was planning on suing the tapes’ distributors. Joe went on to say the man behind the tapes tried to extort him for $7 million, and, when he refused to pay that, he then released the videos. Joe also noted he owned the copyright to the tapes, so, even if they were released, he thought he should be getting money from them. Howard reported there were images of Valtrex prescriptions (a herpes medication) on the Website where the tapes were being sold, but Joe promised he was clean and thought Paris was as well. Joe then acknowledged he had sex with Paris, but denied he was ever with Lindsay Lohan. As Joe again began fading out, Howard informed him he was “a shitty interview” this morning, but he responded it was because of his phone connection, not that he didn’t want to talk. After Joe talked about a man who once threatened him at gunpoint, a caller claimed he was “getting high” just listening to him, but Joe replied that he only had 3 hours of sleep prior to the call and noted that he’d get out of the bed for the rest of it so he wouldn’t fall asleep. Joe continued to claim he wasn’t looking to make any money off the Paris videos, but wanted to stop them from being sold instead. When Howard asked Joe who “the best” sexual partner he’s ever had was, he named Paris. He said she gave the best blowjobs (um..I saw the first sex tape - he must be seriously deprived of good head ) Joe proceeded to suggest people visit the Website to watch his video so they could see how “good” she was themselves. This led Howard to point out that Joe had referenced the site a number of times during the interview, which he thought was another sign that Joe was behind it. However, Joe again denied any ties to the site. When asked who the worst was (insinuated in this interview: Paris, Lindsay, Kim Stewart, Tara Reid) he said Tara was the worst. When Howard asked why, he mumbled, "...well I only used protection with her, so maybe that made it less pleasurable..." Howard then began asking more leading questions like, "So she just laid there?" or "Was it because she had a big smelly loose vagina?" Joe responded, "More or less, yeah." Joe then stated, "Well I don't plan on having sex with Paris again, especially after seeing the medical documents on the site.”

Doesn't he just make you want to sew your vagina shut? He has a revolving door of Hollywood’s biggest skanks and he chooses to only use protection with Tara Reid? Surly his penis has disintegrated. Maybe I overestimate his threat to womankind.

Frivolous Celebrity Lawsuit Alert

Now I’m not all about people dying but this lawsuit is ridiculous:

Brandy aka Moesha was driving about 65 miles an hour when she failed to slow down for traffic and rear ended a car. The driver of that car (Awatef Aboudihaj) died. Unbelievably, Brandy wasn’t under the influence of drugs, alcohol or a cell phone. The family of the victim is suing the has-been for $50 million. Now I’m going to rant for a second because I was once frivolously sued for a car accident and this shit pisses me off:

It’s sad that someone’s life was lost but my life isn’t even worth suing someone for $50 million and I tend to think I’m worth a lot. I would come back from hell and haunt my family if they ever sued anyone, has-been or not, for that much money. $50 million is like half a Britney Spears. If Brandy was drunk, on heroin and had a cell phone attached to each ear while playing bumper cars on the 405, she would certainly be opening herself up for a $50 million lawsuit. I bet if Ms. Nobody rear ended the same car and the same person died, there wouldn’t even be a lawsuit (unless Ms. Nobody was me-then the lawsuit would stay intact). Plus, if you’re going to sue for a lot of money, at least make it believable - like $5 million. Brandy hasn’t had a popular song since 1996 and her last job was a host on America’s Got Talent so there’s no way in hell she’s worth $15 million less than $50 million. I’m sorry – misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter (Brandy’s charge) is a $1,000 fine. Why should she have to pay $50 million to the family when she has to pay the government $1,000? No misdemeanor is worth $50 million. Normally, I would vote for Awatef’s family to get some money but $50 million is straight up greedy so I hope they get nothing. Yes, that might be cold but I don't care. In closing, just because Brandy hits your car doesn’t mean you also automatically hit the lottery jackpot. You got that people?

Ok I think I’m done now. I'm not even a fan of Brandy but I sure feel better after that.
