Is Reese on top?
I've heard two versions of this story so I'm going to throw them both out there and you pick what one you like best:
Version 1.0: Reese Witherspoon is staring in an upcoming horror-ish movie called Our Family Trouble about a mother fighting off demons or something. If that movie does well, she could command up to $30 million a movie. This would make her the highest paid actress, above Julia Roberts who earned $24 million for Mona Lisa Smile.
Version 1.1: Reese Witherspoon has taken over Julia Roberts as the highest paid actress of all time. Reese will be paid $29 million for her upcoming horror movie Our Family Trouble.
If version number one is true: Reese, if I were you I wouldn't bank on the box office earnings of a horror movie pushing you into the $30 million salary zone. If version number two is true: Reese, honey, you're cute and all but they're paying you way too much.
In my honest and humble opinion, I don't think there's anything an actor/actress can do in any movie that should earn them $29 million. It's a ridiculous amount of money. I love Resse Witherspoon as much as the next person who almost forgets she exists except when you see her face on screen, but I can't for the life of me figure out why she would be Hollywood's top earner. I guess if someone in Hollywood is going home with $29 million it might as well be her -- she's smart, polished, family-oriented and won't blow it all on blow.

i'm going to assume that source 1 is correct. who knew doing legally blonde would catapult her career like it has... GOD, i can play a dumb blonde just as well, if not better... plus, i look good.
i like reese. i think she deserves that $ more than most of the other hoochies in hollywood...she was great in walk the line.
