America's Next Top Tranny

Who wants to be a Pussycat Doll? Me! ME! The new CW, that hybrid network pieced together from the crumbling wreckage of the UPN and the WB, ordered eight episodes of a reality show tentatively titled "The Search for the Next Pussycat Doll."

"At its core, this show goes beyond just finding a new Pussycat Doll; it's about female empowerment, self-discovery and personal transformation," said Dawn Ostroff, CW's president of entertainment.

Dawn's statement is rich with irony. Firstly, I'm somewhat certain that several of the members are cross-dressed men hence, I suppose, the reference to transformation. Secondly, "female empowerment" is the excuse that strippers always use when in fact it's simply a pseudo-feministic argument for a misogynistic activity. Stripping's only a good career choice when you're earning money for school. Which I am. And I'll have my Community College Associate's Degree in Mechanics any day now. Thirdly, only that one girl sings, so you'll probably self-discover yourself right into the back row of a lip-synching soft-core porn show. Which, now that I mention it, doesn't sound half-bad.
