Oy! Barbra!
Ok, ok. I know Barbra Streisand is a little old and gossip about older folks isn’t all that interesting but, like the little yenta I am, I couldn’t resist passing this list of Babs' scandals and lovers--hot off the presses in time for her ‘comeback’ tour:
According to a new bio, Ms. Streisand enjoyed trysts with goy toys including both Prince Charles and Princess Diana's doomed lover, Dodi Fayed, Peter Jennings, Warren Beatty, Ryan O'Neal, Steve McQueen, Kris Kristofferson, Don Johnson, Jon Voight, Elliott Gould, Andre Agassi, Richard Gere, Omar Sharif, ice cream heir Richard Baskin, hairdresser-turned-studio chief Jon Peters, Liam Neeson, two-time Prime Minister of Canada Pierre Trudeau, Tommy Smothers and "Robocop" Peter Weller. Oy Vey! I'm almost jealous of a few of those and she's 38 years older than me. Impressive Babs! Here are a few other tidbits:
- Babs has an extreme fear of being assassinated due to her open support for Israel.
- Hilary Clinton banned her from Bill Clinton’s White House after she learned Babs stayed overnight while the First Lady was in Arkansas at her father’s deathbed.
- During a 1963 stage production of “Funny Girl,” Babs had a sweltering affair with her co-star, Sydney Chaplin (Charlie’s son). When the affair was over, Chaplin would whisper insults in her ear on-stage. What four letter word upset her the most? NOSE.
- During high school chorus, Babs never had a solo and her half-sister was considered more talented.
- Her frugality became legendary early on. According to the book, even when she and then-boyfriend Jon Peters were transforming their Ramirez Canyon compound, "Supply companies, contractors and pool builders would have to resort to placing liens on the property if they wanted to get paid. They were so goddamned cheap,' said one contractor. 'It was just sickening, when you saw how much they had.' " [source]
