YOUR 15 MINUTES: Stingray Edition

Forget about Paris Hilton...Stingrays are experiencing a series of unfortunate events. Since a scared stingray accidentally killed croc-hunter Steve Irwin, murdered and mutilated stingrays are turning up Australia's eastern coast. At least 10 stingrays have been found and authorities speculate it's an act of revenge on the fish.

Celebrity Hijinx went undercover to investigate the murders of these fish and found that the crocodiles are seeking the revenge. Before Steve Irwin they were only known for their handbags and belts. Then Steve Irwin came along and gave them TV exposure. They liked the airtime and now it's gone. They hate stingrays. "If we can't be on TV, neither can they!", said one crocodile. "Steve and I were in talks with the WB about a reality show, the Steve and Ali show," mentioned the representative of the Aussie Aligator.

According to CNN, stingrays are usually shy, unobtrusive fish that rummage along the sea bottom for food or burrow into the sand. When stepped on or otherwise frightened, a serrated spine up to 25 centimeters (10 inches) long in the animal's tail flares up. The spines emit toxins that can kill small creatures and cause excruciating pain in humans. Few people die from the poison, but the spines can badly tear flesh and the wounds are prone to infections, including tetanus. According to Michael Hornby, the executive director of Irwin's conservation group Wildlife Warriors, "people should treat stingrays with caution, but "there is still no need to ... kill or mutilate these important animals." Tell that to the crocs!
