Later, Katie!

"Today" show co-host Katie Couric has announced today that she'll ironically be leaving the "Today" show. After 15 years with the show, she told the audience that she'd be leaving in May to persue a venture with CBS where she'd be hosting the "Evening News" and "60 Minutes." The official announcement from CBS will be made later today.
"'Today' has ranked as the No. 1 network show in morning ratings for more than a decade, making it one of the most important assets of NBS, a unit of General Electric Co.. The news program generates about $250 million in profit for NBC annually."
Meredith Vieira of "The View" has emerged as the leading candidate to replace Katie once she leaves... other candidates include Campbell Brown (never heard of her), Natalie Morales, and Ann Curry.
