Remember Debra Lafave--the former teacher/bipolar registered sex offender who molested a 14 year-old boy. She pled guilty to two counts of lewd and lascivious battery and was sentenced to house arrest. Now she’s temporarily allowed off house arrest to go to the Westin Harbour Island Hotel. Why? Because she’s the hottest child molester ever!
Matt Lauer was the ‘lucky’ reporter who beat tons of reporters (even Baba Walters) to get Lafave’s story for a Dateline special set to air in mid-September. Apparently Debra wants to talk about her bipolar illness and the student affair with the country because she hopes it might be beneficial to people when they hear about it. Come again? Puh-leeze... this whole Dateline ordeal is total ratings sexploitation. News…not so much. Debra’s probation officer, probably the only sane person mentioned in this article, didn’t agree to it. A judge and prosecutors did. Court records show prosecutor Michael Sinacore didn’t object because 25-year-old Lafave was not compensated, a condition of her three-year community control. I’m sure it had nothing to do with the gender bias for sex offenders that occurs in today’s judicial system and the fact that she's smokin' hot. Probation officials were okay with the NBC crew going to Lafave’s home, but they required a judge’s approval for the registered sex offender to visit a plush hotel. Most molested kids' lives are ruined after their encounters with predators--this bitch just set his looks department bar pretty high ...although I do admit the crazy bar might need some adjusting at some point in time.

It all boils down to looks, and that's a sad situation. How many believe she won't do it again?

Here it is 2006 and people still don't get it....Who is truely the 'Victim'.....who lost the most?? She did...for what..... nothing.
Case closed..take the ankle braclet off and leave her alone to heal under the care of her Doctor.
She could teach adults to read

Mental illness is a serious problem but unfortunately individuals in the criminal justice system often use it as an excuse. It is sometimes hard to identify where the criminal ends and the patient begins. Many people with bipolar disorder never have sex with young children. When someone with bipolar disorder chooses to do that, there are a number of legal concerns. Hopefully the legal professionals that work with the offender properly address the situation. She lost her job because she crossed a line, mental illness or not. I suffer from severe chronic depression and anxiety disorder with agoraphobia. If I'm really depressed, go to work, do lines of coke off my desk to deal with my depression and get caught, there are going to be ramifications. Whether or not I'm fired/thrown into jail or sent off to rehab is the difference with a mental disorder...when a child's well-being is a stake one can't be too careful. You seem to forget that an adult had sex with a CHILD. She was supposed to be a role model, she could've had diseases...as much as she was not in control of the sitation, she was. Stop trying to defend a child molster.
...and I'm sorry but looks and gender have a lot to do with this particular story. If a bipolar 40 year old male with no teeth, no job and a mullet had sex with a young girl you'd be petitioning a blog to throw his ass in jail.
